A child can learn so much from reading classic novels. Classic novels broaden a child's vocabulary and introduces them to a world vastly different from our own. They can learn life from the prospective of a person who may have lived centuries ago.

One of my favorite classic novelists is Jane Austen. Her works such as Pride and Prejudice, Sense and Sensibility and Emma have even been successfully adapted to the silver screen. Most of these works can be purchased for a relatively small fee. However, these works are now available for free online.
