Painting Ideas for Canvases

(c) Susan Elliott/ The Pastel Forest

Art is my children's favorite class. You don't have to be a slave to a book to teach your child art. Art should be fun and expressive. Let your child dream and create. Don't tell them that the grass has to be green or a man's hair shouldn't be purple. Allow your child to grow and experiment. This will help your budding artist to feel confident in their artwork.

Canvases and canvas boards are relatively inexpensive. They really are a great medium even for young children. Purchase canvas boards and bottles of paint from your favorite craft store and set you child loose.

Canvas art can give a child the opportunity to create another world. Art may represent a part of him you may not know or even suspect existed. Also, don't be afraid to experiment with painting yourself, anyone can recreate a great work of art, with a little bit of guidance, and determination.
